In many situations, outdoor faucets and pipes are shut off in winter to prevent freezing and damage. MAGNUM offers a much simpler solution: with MAGNUM Ideal frost-free heating cable, frozen and burst water pipes will be a thing of the past! The MAGNUM Ideal product range is specially designed to keep (water) pipes, faucets, drainpipes, etc. frost-free.
Freezing problems can be easily prevented by installing a frost-free heating cable, plug-ready and with an automatic thermostat, along the pipe. Once installed and insulated with pipe insulation, this application not only provides safety but also prevents additional and unnecessary costs due to water damage. When installing on plastic pipes, they should first be fully wrapped with aluminum tape before applying the cable.
MAGNUM Ideal frost-free heating cable is plug-ready (with a 2-meter long power cord and grounded plug) and equipped with temperature control through bi-metal. MAGNUM Ideal frost-free heating cables are available in lengths ranging from 1 to 48 meters. The cable turns on when the temperature drops below +5°C and automatically turns off when the pipe temperature exceeds +13°C.
The heating cable should never be placed directly on a PVC pipe. First, the PVC pipe should be covered with aluminum tape for proper heat conduction.

MAGNUM Ideal can be easily attached to the pipes using aluminum tape or plastic cable ties. When installing on plastic pipes, they should first be fully wrapped with aluminum tape before applying the cable. MAGNUM Ideal should always be used in combination with (polyethylene) pipe insulation with a minimum wall thickness of 10 mm. This ensures optimal protection and insulation, guaranteeing energy-efficient operation.
